Executive Chef Tyler Nelson’s passion for the industry became relevant at a young age after his first restaurant position at a Midwest hometown BBQ. He then ventured into Chicago night life and worked in a high end steak house, later accepting the position as the opening Sous Chef for Pata Negra Restaurant, and shortly after was promoted to Chef de Cuisine.
Following Tyler’s move to Naperville, he worked at Water Streets Blue Sushi Sake Grill as Executive Chef.
Chef Tyler’s colorful palette of experience in a variety of food cultures intrigued his interest in the art of fine dining and catering. Before making the leap into special events, he learned the art of Butchery learning how to process whole cattle, lamb and pork, and mastered the precision timing of meat cookery. Now Executive Chef at Naperville’s Premier Event Venue Elements at Water Street, he works with the finest of meats, and freshest of ingredients to produce exceptional plates for a variety of different events.
George Barg, Sous Chef
630-717-2800 x20
Born and raised in Wheaton, Illinois, George grew up in a large family and with a lot of home cooking. He always loved following a recipe step-by-step and watching it all come together in the end. George started in the industry as a server at his late grandmother’s retirement home and eventually worked his way up to garde manager. From there George found his love and passion for cuisine, later graduating from College of DuPage with a degree in Culinary Arts.
George joined Elements at Water Street to complete his internship in 2017 and has been with the company ever since. From prep cook, to lead cook, to Sous Chef, George has grown with the company and become a staple in Elements Kitchen. During the Covid Shutdown in IL, George had the amazing opportunity to venture to Florida and work for Jupiter Island Club. There, he was able to fine tune his knife skills and work on efficiency and speed. George then returned home and re-accepted his position as Sous Chef at Elements. George’s attention to detail, his leadership qualities, and talent in the kitchen makes the company proud to have him.
